Ski Chalet La Clusaz

Chalet Sophia La Clusaz in winter is the ideal base for Skiing Holiday and stands on the hill-side overlooking the valley and is full of character and warmth, she offers all that is needed to make a fantastic summer or winter holiday.

Sitting just below the Col de Aravis, the Chalet offers magnificent views of the Etale mountain. It is comfortably furnished and sleeps 12. The accommodation is 5 twin bedrooms and 1 double, 3 bathrooms (one on each of the 3 floors). A sittingroom/dining room, kitchen and cave.

You know how so many skiers rarely return to the same resort, well it is as though the roundabout stops and they all get off once they come to La Clusaz. It is because of its character, the variety of slopes, the lack of queues and the picturesque setting when blanketed with snow, that cause many to return again and again.

La Clusaz

Untouched snow valleys, secret spots and open spaces, together with staggering variety and views that look over the rest of the world, are found. In the Aravis you ski among the fir trees and on the open slopes you momentarily wonder if they have been shut due to lack of people. You duck at speed into the short cut through the woods and grab a stalagmite from nature’s ‘own icebar' and you witness wildlife that you wish others could have seen aswell. La Clusaz offers its visitors high quality, high-altitude skiing, in the outstanding setting of the Aravis range and its magical valleys.

Whether a beginner, intermediate or advanced skier/ boarder, the La Clusaz range of mountains caters for all. Combined with the resorts of Le Grand Bornand and Manigod the skiable area opens up to 220km of well maintained pistes, offering a variety of skiing and scenery and sporting events. This dynamic resort organizes a number of competitions including downhill skiing, Nordic skiing, snowboarding and free-riding.

The greatest designer of a ski area is still ‘nature.’ La Clusaz retains this and offers a unique unspoilt area, rejecting the concrete artificial constructions that service merely the sport.

Don’t miss the view from the top of col de Balme on a sunny day!

Once a month La Clusaz offers the fantastic opportunity to go moonlight skiing. This unique event is unmissable and if you are lucky enough to be staying when it’s a full moon, strap on your skis for the 2nd time, it’s a must . The pistes re-open at 9pm, the bars are open and alive with bands and DJ’s and glowing freebies are handed out so you can see fellow skiers on the slopes. If you can’t make it for the full moon don’t worry there is floodlit skiing every Thursday night in the town centre and main slopes.

Racket walking /Snow-shoeing

Fantastic for non-skiers racket walking/snow-shoeing is an awesome way to go walking in thick snow on the mountains. There are clearly marked routes throughout the hills and valleys all of which are beautiful, some tree lined. You can hire ‘rackets’ and go alone or take a guide who will take you on a nature trail, searching out wildlife and tracks. It is a perfect way to spend a leisurely day

Corporate team building

Including Igloo building and ski challenges. With programs designed to suit your own personality and stamina levels, experience in complete safety the thrill of improving your skill and feeling that perfect carved turn.

Huskey Sledding

Dog sledding began in Canada and Alaska where, in the far north, people were dependent on their dogs for protection, companionship, hunting, trapping and, most of all, transportation.

This is not generally a sit on ride! You are in charge of your own sled with 3 or 4 dogs to pull it and you. You are part of a team with the dogs which in itself is a wonderful experience and although an energetic activity, which is at times hard work it can be incredibly rewarding.
